We have been at the Royal Caribbean Hideaway twice. We have traveled widely throughout the United States and Europe, and believe that this is the finest resort we have ever visited. The food was consistently spectacular, and it was only by dint of working out every day (and thanks to their first rate tennis pro, I got an excellent workout in every day) that I was able to avoid gaining weight because the food is simply irresistible. Our favorite was the Asian restaurant, with the Italian restaurant a close second, but we never had a bad meal, or for that matter any kind of bad experience. If there was any kind of problem our concierge took care of it promptly and graciously. About the only complaint was occasionally iffy Internet service, and perhaps the shower heads could use an updating. Our concierge was always on top of things, and the staff are always friendly, gracious, welcoming, and create an environment in which your cares literally melt away. Don't believe the negative reviews. This is simply a spectacular place. It remains our favorite place in the world to go. We would not hesitate coming back here and we know several couples who have been back dozens of times.

We chose Royal Hideaway for our daughter's destination wedding. It was the most beautiful place for a wedding. We couldn't have asked for more. Not only was it beautiful, but the staff all went above and beyond our expectations. The food and food service was also exceptional. Our only negative experience was with the wedding planner for the hotel--she was new and we did have a few glitches there but maybe with experience she'll improve.

We have taken our company to the Hideaway for six years. Forget what you think about AI. This is a top quality hotel for any price, anywhere. The grounds are amazing, the food outstanding-full room service until midnight, stocked mini bar, very good A/C, and the best staff we have ever had. Apparently, some reviewers were in another hotel and thought they were at the Hideaway. There is no night life and they could use some entertainment, but the resort is top notch and a real bargain.

We have been to Mexico many times. This is by far the best service and highest quality resort. The service was excellent(although still on Mexican time- lol). They served quality liquor and plenty of it in your drink. Nothing watered down here. The restaurants were a little over the top. Could have stuck to regular recipes, the ingredients were quality but the recipes left much to be deisred. We longed for a good enchilada or steak and bake. The poolside hamburgers were some of the best anywhere in the states! Unlike other resorts, much of the wait staff does not speak english well. That is a down fall when trying to determine what should be ordered. However, the best personalities of any staff. The atmosphere is one of total relaxation and quiet. Not the place for you if you want rock music by the pool. The grounds were beautiful and well manicured. The rooms were impeccable. What more could you want?

The rooms were terribly small, we paid $600 a night and had hardly any balcony not big enough for 2 people to even stand on, the other hotel was so close we could and overlooked the recycle. The water fountain in the center of the common area started at 7:00 in the morning, thank you for that wake up call. The pool was cold and had birds in it. No food at the pool, no bar to sit at around the pool area, no nightlife at all. This was the worst vacation in 20 years, biggest waste of money. Beware the alcohol they mix the bottles when they get towards the end of the bottle...that includes the wine!!! This was the biggest rip off ... stay away ... should have been rated 2 star. Be prepared to wait for 2 hours for your food...if you should have to go here for some reason, the italian restaurant as well as the japanese restaurant were the best.
