Ultimately, you can't beat the value. Great place to take kids/family, but also a really nice play for a romantic weekend. Food was good to very good. Service was very good and drinks were excellent. Very secure, cheap cab ride to Playa for a night out, very helpful servers. Our first room smelled of mold, but they quickly moved us to a different room that was fresh. They were also quickly attentive to fixing our broken doorknob. Wireless service would be nice, but it's Mexico, I guess. We had an unbelievable time and the cost of our 2 flights and 4 nights hotel was less than 1 flight to Hawaii. Can't beat that.

Going here is a deal, but it's no bargain. Food is okay, but after 8 days of it, it's filling and nothing else. The alcohol is very odd-either watered down or not recognizable. I like gin, but never got anything even approximating it. Beer is watery, margarita mix is nasty, wine is HORRIBLE. I finally gave up and drank bottled water. Our housekeeper was insistent on cleaning our room, even when the "Do Not Disturb" sign was in evidence. He would knock, I would politely say, "No gracias". He'd come back a few hours later and repeat the scenario. Eventually he would CALL (waking me up), asking to clean. What is so difficult about understanding "DO NOT DISTURB"?? We have stayed at other "bargain" resorts before and been thoroughly pleased. Not so much with this place. Won't return.

We stayed at Sandos with our 4 and 7 year old daughters. Great place for kids! They loved being in the Disney show and all the animals around. The food was okay and the snack bar saved us with picky eaters. The new water park is fantastic. We requested our room be changed to poolside and it made our stay so much better. Close to everything really convenient. I would request this when you check in. I also recommend a junior suite. Pay a little more for more space and the hot tub on the deck. It was where our girls took their bath each evening--they loved it! We would come again!

We stayed 7 days during June 2009. This was our second time to stay and this time was even better than the first. There was plenty variety of food and it was all good. The food at the snack bar was so good we had to grab something to munch on every time we passed by it. We stayed after the swine flu mess so the resort capacity was fairly low. That had its advantages - our room was in a great location and we were able to find a shady spot at the beach or pools any time. Fortunately this is a large resort and even though some of the restaurants were not open and others were open part of the time we still had a very good variety to pick from. The brazillian restaurant was great and the chocolate biscuit at La Riviera was fantasttic its a brownie filled with hot fudge and served with vanilla ice cream. The buffet always had ice cream available and theres a soft serve machine at the snack bar. Thre are plenty of bars and the drinks were good and plentiful. We never had to walk very far to get to a bar and we never had to wait very long to get served. The bartenders were all friendly. Our room was always clean and the refrigerator restocked. There was a different towel critter on our bed every day. We loved going to the spa and using the hot tub every evening. There was a hot tub inside a pool a separate hot tub a sauna and a turkish bath and we tried them all. Massages were available at the beach as well as at the spa. I had a 50 minute massage at the spa and it cost me *.

Our room was ample size for our needs, and overlooked the ocean! The staff were extremely friendly and bent over to make us happy. The entertainment was good, too...there was always something going on out by the pool, and the beach was very relaxing. The only downfall was the night of the beach party. The party was fabulous, but when we were ready to sleep, there were people yelling and music until the wee hours of the morning outside our window!
